What to do in Corfu?

Corfu is one of Greece’s most popular islands. During the summer, temperatures can be above 40 degrees, but this isn’t the only reason for its popularity, there is a lot to see and do!

Travelling from one side of the island to another doesn’t actually take too long, and from the top to the bottom, it will usually take less than two hours. One vehicle you’re bound to see in Corfu is a quad bike, they really are everywhere. For tourists, they are probably more popular than mopeds. Hiring a quad is cheap and easy, usually around 20 Euros a day, while fuel is reasonable priced too.

The popular beaches such as Issos, will always have sea activities, especially during the peak season. This can include banana boats, flying fish, ringos, boat trips, parasailing and jet skis. Rather than pubs and clubs, there are a great deal of taverns throughout Corfu’s towns and villages. Not to say there aren’t any pubs, but taverns are ideal places to drink and dine in a Greek way.

Corfu town is a must see town, it’s the heart of Corfu. There are two forts; the old and the new, both offer great views of each other, and each is situated at a different ends of Corfu town.

If there is one type of food to try, it’s a Gyros Kebab. Found at most restaurants, they are again popular amongst tourists. The mountains provide fantastic views, and it can be a fun activity to walk up them and past the many olive trees. Just make sure the weather is not too hot. This post offers just a taste of what Corfu offers, so make sure you don’t miss out, and visit Corfu.
